Senator Wiggins Writes Letter to U.S. Chief of Naval Operations

After reading in an article published in Defense News that the Navy’s new strategy and forthcoming shipbuilding plan might favor small and unmanned ships, leaving Ingalls’ future building Navy ships uncertain, Senator Wiggins wrote a letter to the U.S. Chief of Naval Operations. As the Mississippi State Senator in the District where Ingalls Shipbuilding is located, he felt it was important to express his concern over any potential reduction at Ingalls as a result of this shift. He believes large vessels are important to America’s defense and our show of strength abroad. Read his letter below.
